Once identified, I will delete this image, thank you.

**Updated 13/12/2019**
Location positively identified by Luis Miguel Correia (and ably assisted by Davidships) as Leixões, Portugal.
Still working on the tug's name though..
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Assistance is sought to identify this tug and/or tug company. It has a somewhat American influenced design, perhaps?

If these can be identified, then it follows that the presently unknown location can be identified too.

The tug is alongside a Portuguese ship which has been identified as the 'Beira', IMO 5419036 and can be seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/patalavaca/49200316333/in/dateposted/

Scanned from a poor quality slide which was made circa 1964-1981.
Copyright owned.
From the collection of the late Niels Anker Larsen, former Danish Merchant Navy Radio Officer.

David, thank you very much for the suggestion. You are correct.
I have just received a separate confirmation from Luis Miguel Correia.
I am still awaiting identification of the tug though. I will research it later this evening.
Much appreciated, Rick

Just a hunch that this might be Leixões.
That long warehouse could be the one in these photos:

But still looking for the tug.

Hi Phil, thanks for the suggestion & message.

Indeed, the roof tiles in the main pic are what I have been studying, with some futility..
The reason I thought it was not Lisbon is the sparsity of roofs, it's a big old city, and that the land by Lisbon port rises noticeably from the river.
See Here for example.

That long warehouse with the bright, white roof that is immediately behind the Beira's sharp end, might be a good clue.
Still head scratching here ;-)

I don't know the tug, Rick, but the bright orange roof colours on your Flikr pic make me wonder if the location in Lisbon.
