This, of course, is the standard 110 x 34 barge that the Navy built for about 100 years. First they were wood, then riveted steel, then welded. The major variants were YC, a coaming deck barge (originally a coaling barge) and YFN, a “covered lighter.”

I have a Navy note on her saying “Mod in 1982: Turnshed for classrooms.” I can only guess that means she was furnished for classrooms, but if so, I’m surprised that she shows no windows or doors.
