Yes, Japanese ship names can lead to confusion in identification. There are often more than one ship with the same name, and kanji (Chinese-style) characters generally have 2 or more ways in which they can be pronounced, so I try to find photos ships I've photographed on Japanese websites from where I can get some more details or leads (& hopefully an IMO or MMSI number). But for this ship I could only find the one site that you mentioned. A Google translation did come up with the correct pronunciation but their translations of names are very unreliable (their translation of one tug I found came up with "Holy Testicle"!). But your pointing to the name Nitto Maru lead me to look closely at the stern of my other photo where it shows the original name being that, so bingo!

No details there, but Equasis has KOSHIN MARU (IMO 8890736) with owner as Koshin Kisen, Kobe
On the otherhand, this "Koshin" seems slightly different:

Other sources have IMO 8890736 as NITTO MARU, but no recent data.
