This is my favorite ship sailing today, whether under N.A.L., Cunard or as SAGA ROSE. When I was 12 years old, my father showed me the front page of Nordisk Tidene, with an architect's drawing of a new proposed liner for Norwegian America Line. It was this ship, and I have followed her 'life' ever since. She replaced STAVANGERFJORD, the liner we immigrated to the USA on in 1954.

I don't know if she's my favorite ship sailing today but if not she has got to be in my top three.

It's a pity that most of her original interiors are gone but nonetheless she is absolutely magnificent.

I cannot think of a ship I would rather sail in - only problem is, I am about 20 years too young :-( !

Anyhow, a magnificent photo of a magnificent ship!

I knew this one would attract some attention. Her classic lines are smooth and well-proportioned as emphasized in this aerial shot. I climbed up a local grain elevator to get slides of her.

Thanks for the positive remarks, gentlemen, as well as for your personal thoughts about this fine ship.

Regards,

Marc

Ah, getting goosebumps of this ship. I dont know if it is some sort of patriotism, but i think this ship and her sister was some of the prettiest girls around. Its not patriotism. Its my reality, hehe! Keep up the good work, man! Best regards ghazten SANDEFJORD Norway

Hi Marc,
great shot of this nice liner. I agree to Arne. Her sistership "VISTAFJORD" was a german TV-star in the 1980´s.
Regards,
Michael
