Description:

Inshore fishing boat ”Kaishin Maru” (海神丸) at Tarumi Port, Kobe, on 12th October 2016, acting as the goza-bune (lead boat) in the parade of fishing boats during the Watatsumi Shrine's (Kai Jinja's) annual Aki-matsuri festival. Kaishin (which also can be pronounced Watatsumi) is the legendary “Great God of the Sea”. “Kaishin Maru” seems to be a popular name for boats from this port as I counted three others of varying sizes carrying the same name on the same day.
