Hello All.
This ship was sold to the Argentinan Martime Autority and them re convert into a Floating Detachment.
Originally, the idea was to place outer Rio de La plata, to replae the old Recalada Pilot Station. But them it was replace by other ex Shell owned ship, Estrella Atlantica, wichwas re named as DF 19.
A photo of her in his position:

Estrella Autral was renamed as DF 20. and took inner Rio de La Plata river. It acts as a floating Detachment called "Los Sauces", where Parana rivers ends at Rio de La Plata.
The actual position is the one that Marine traffic shows if you search by the ship imo or previous name, the same that Bob says.

Thanks again Manuel, according to Google maps she is now located on a branch of the Plata River, near Nueva Palmira.

Hello, again, Pieter... We could say, yes, she works like an accommodation vessel because is the place where pilots 'live' while they are working in River Plate zone. She is anchored near Montevideo. Pilots take 15-day work shifts.
The letters DF are for 'Destacamento flotante' something like 'Floating Detachment'...

Thank you Manuel, so it is basically an accomodation vessel?

She was donated by Shell (former owner) to be used as a floating dock for pilots at River Plate, with the pennant number DF-20.

Her sister ship 'Estrella Atlántica' become DF-19, for a similar use.

That's interesting Bob, totally forlorn on a branch of the Plata river. Big question remains: Why???

Pieter: Take a look at Google Earth position 33 deg 56’ 00.58” S ; 58 deg 31’ 49.83” W. It coincides with the ship’s last reported position on Marine Traffic and it would appear to have still been there in July 2019

I asked a question in my description and now I am posting it here as a comment, not to gain hits, but to get an answer.
