The 1952 Krimpen built ELXIS, owned by N.Leondaras and P.Kallikis of Piraeus - who had also owned ENARXIS (ex VLIST) and MARIAN (ex MARIANNA ex RAMON DE LARRINAGA) - is seen passing Portishead, outbound from Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago, on 5th February 1970.

ELXIS foundered off Catania on 7th October 1971 after suffering a flooded engine room during a voyage from Barreiro, in the Setúbal District of Portugal, to Famagusta with a cargo of fertiliser.
