WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
In what was probably one the first larger Chinese export deals, the Zhong Hua shipyard in 1981 received an order for 10 6100 DWT container ships. The order came from Germany and the design looks quite similar to what the Sietas yard had to ofeer in those days.
Delivery started in 1983, during which 6 ships were delivered, followed by the reamianing four in 1984. The second ship, named Kampen was already lost after six months of trading, but several are still operational.
This photo shows the SCOL TRADER, and as I never wrote down the date when I took a shot, there is a small problem here with the correct identity. It can either be the ex ICELAND, which traded as SCOL TRADER in 1983, or the ex FRIESLAND, which used the name SCOL TRADER during 1985 which is shown here.

However as I did write down 1983 on the back of the print that I made, based on then current info, I trust that we may have here the first edition of which there is no shot of the 1984 edition on the site.
Any decisive comment will be accepted as the final judgement as to what this photo represents.
