Hello Canberra97. It seems the Navy will not provide any space for cruise ships. As a passenger I would prefer to travel from ship to Circular Quay by ferry/tender than by bus through the suburbs from Botany Bay. The locals at Botany Bay have expressed strong dislike for a dedicated cruise ship terminal (NIMBY!)

I know that there are limited opportunities to build another cruise terminal in Sydney harbour especially on the right side of the bridge but with the increasing cruise business in the city it's a ridiculous situation and also an extremely inconvenient situation where cruise ships are having to continuously anchor in the harbour.

I know that the Australian Navy don't want cruise ships at Garden Island but surely a compromise can be made on occasions when there are more than two vessels visiting Sydney.

I know that the cruise company's are not in favour of it and I appreciate the reasons why but a new cruise terminal dedicated to turnarounds should be built at Botany Bay. I know that plans are in place to build such a facility but in my opinion they can't come soon enough.

She shifted from the buoy to Circular Quay after Queen Elizabeth left. Better than going west of the Bridge to the Cruise Terminal in White Bay
