Watertruck+ is a project of the Flemish Authority, sponsored by the European Union, to modernise the inland waterway traffic. A fleet of around 30 barges were ordered, some without an engine and some with engines. During 2020 trials will be conducted on the Canal Oostende-Nieuwpoort to sail some barges unmanned and guided from a shorebased controlcenter.
