Thank you all for your comments.
That photo of the giants of old, waiting in Norway during the oil crisis have but little in common with this one, imho.
Except for the crisis, but even that is different: tankers on my photo are actually pretty in a hurry to be delivered, as their owners would like to capitalize on current floating storage needs (before they get hammered by the fall in demand)...

Cheers

In 1984 six ULCCs was laid up at Vestnes, Norway, side by side. They were BELLAMYA (553 660 tdw), BATILLUS (550 000 tdw), PRAIRAL (554 970 tdw), ESSO MEDITERRANEAN (446 500 tdw), ESSO PACIFIC (516 423 tdw) and the smaller ESSO MADRID (388 120 tdw).

Yes Eren, Batillus and Pierre Guillaumat side by side would have been a real treat - and my photo is significantly more modest in comparison, just 300,000 dwt times two...
Denis, I think it's all cargo related (All Crude / Dirty Crude) - but you will see their logo on a number of my photos. (Of course, of some importance is also the fact that the purpose of my existence on this planet was fulfilled on July 4, 2001, when I saw them play live at Turin, Italy.) :)

Cheers

Why AC/DC among all music bands I can think of?

One of the greatest ship photos ever … I have just imagined instead of these VLCC , side by side Batillus and Pierre Guillaumat or Esso Pacific and Esso Atlantic
