Description:

Mediteranska Plovidba of Dubrovnik’s 1949 Landskrona built PLOD is seen passing Rozenburg outbound from Rotterdam on 15th May 1971.

EX-ALSTERKAMP-64 GLOMDAL-56

PLOD finally arrived at Sveti Kajo, near Split, on 19.7.73 for breaking

PLOD (English translation: "a fruit") was the very first reefer on the eastern Adriatic. Mediteranska Plovidba chose the name as it related to a cargo.

In 1967 she was joined by the 1952 built AGRUM ("Citrus fruit")(IMO 5012747).

After PLOD was broken up she was replaced by the 1960 built PENTELIKON (IMO 5274230).

In 1975 the 1961 built VOĆE ("Fruits") (IMO 5093557) joined the fleet.

After many jokes about this VOĆE name ("Fruits & Vegetables Line"), Mediteranska Plovidba adopted the suffix FRIGO for its reefers.
