On January 26th 1994, during a voyage from Vigo to Rotterdam, in bad weather, she sustained an engine failure in the English Channel. Adrift, she dropped both anchors, 5 NMiles in NNW of Le Treport. The tug GABRIEL DE CLIEU came from Dieppe to help the ship to keep her position. Then it was notified by French Authority to take a tow, and the tug ABEILLE LANGUEDOC made fast. KIFANGONGO let go both anchors lines, and the convoy proceeded to Le Havre.

She no longer has an anchor !
