P&O Line IBERIA laid up at berth 101 in the Port of Southampton Western Docks in June 1972 preparing for her final voyage to the ship breaker's at Kaoshiung Taiwan. She would have destored and her lifeboats have already been displaced.

The IBERIA was the first of the large P&O passenger vessel's to be decommissioned in the early seventies. Due to her history of mechanical problems it was therefore decided that the 20yo IBERIA would be withdrawn from service. The IBERIA arrived at the Port of Southampton for the final time on the 19 April 1972 and having discharged her passengers moved to berth 101 for lay up.

IBERIA remained at berth 101 for several months until being sold for scrapping at Kaoshiung Taiwan where she arrived in early October 1972 with dismantling commencing on the 17 October 1972.

The Union Castle Line EDINBURGH CASTLE is at berth 104.
The P&O Line HIMALAYA is at berth 106
An unidentified freighter is at berth 107.
