Length over all 148.6 m; breadth 18.4 m; 650 passengers;
built 1939 by Blohm & Voss, Hamburg, as HUASCARAN for HAPAG, Hamburg; after WWII she became Canadian BEAVERBRAE; 1954 sold to Codegar, Italy, and rebuilt into the passenger ship AURELIA for emigrant service to Australia and New Zealand with 1,124 passengers; 1968/1968 converted into a cruise vessel for 470 passengers; 1970 sold to Chandris, Piraeus, and rebuilt again, now becoming ROMANZA for 650 cruise passengers; 1991 sold to Cypriotic owners and renamed ROMANTICA; 1997 destroyed by fire and broken up in 1998;

By strange coincidence this vessel appeared in an episode of "Rumpole of the Bailey" (Leo McKern) last night on Talking Pictures TV the episode entitled Rumpole At Sea from Season 6 filmed in 1991. The episode at set aboard the vessel.
