The 1977 Marugame (Japan) built, Imabari 150m type, bulk carrier YVONNE, owned by Byzantine Maritime Corporation, Piraeus (M.Stafilopatis), is seen in Alfred Basin, Birkenhead, on the morning of 10th July 1999.

On 23rd July 2009, when in a position 95 nautical miles off Saldanha Bay, South Africa, during a voyage from Paranagua to India with a cargo of 22,500 tonnes of sugar, she sadly foundered. All the crew were rescued by helicopter.
