Prysmian Group's new Cable Laying Vessel LEONARDO DA VINCI (IMO 9857315) passed Istanbul strait on Saturday under tow of 🇬🇷Diavlos Salvage & Towage Ltd's AHTS 🇵🇦DIAVLOS FORCE (IMO 8214023) en route from Vard Tulcea🇷🇴 to Vard Brattvag🇳🇴 for outfitting including installation of laying equipment.
Once completed, the 170m long DP3 CLV Leonardo Da Vinci will have 2 independent laying lines, 2 carousels of 7,000t and 10.000t capacity, an installation capability for more than 3,000m depth, 2 hangars for ROVs and helideck certified for Sikorsky S92 and AW 101.
Ordered in April 2018 and hull construction now completed in Romania, the cable-laying equipment to be installed in Norway include turntables, pickup arms, tensioners and caterpillars. The vessel will be the 4th vessel in Prysiam group’s CLV fleet.
