Description:

Looking across the Harbour at Pusan (Busan), South Korea 14/08/05. The cargo ship in the foreground with the yellow cranes is the Oldendorff owned TASMAN ADVENTURER, (now SEABOARD ADVENTURER) the white ferry is PANSTAR DREAM. Across the water at the Hanjin Heavy Industries shipyard; nearing completion is MAERSK DANBURY and MSC BUSAN (99% sure). Thanks to Derek and Rick for solving these 2 mysteries.

I would say by the length of the name and first few letters of second name it is the Maresk Danbury.
But she is down in Germanischer Lloyd as having been built at Busan!

Thanks Derek

That sounds right as Pusan is also known as Busan.

Hi Nick
If you go through all the Maersk D......
in Equasis and look at the where built
and drelevant dates this is almost certain to be the
Maersk Danbury.
Sorry can't help with MSC just yet.

Derek

Hi Nick & Derek , I think you are correct - Maersk Danbury ( N-136) was launched 20/07/2005 & completed 16/09/2005.
No others Maersk ship fits the time.
The MSC ship is afloat at a fitting out berth and not in a building dock.
She looks very close to completion and has nearly all her deck lashing bridges in place - a sure sign that she is almost complete so with that in mind I suggest she can only be the MSC Busan (N-131) , IMO 9289087, which was launched on 09/07/2005 & completed on 22/09/2005.
I have checked all other relevant MSC ships built at Pusan in 2005/6 & can't see any other possible match.
Regards,Rick
