Description:

Built 1919 at Elizabeth, NJ, by the Bethlehem SBCorp., hull no. 2130, as *Butterfield* 218244 for the United State Shipping Board, Washington, DC. 142' x 27.7' x 14.8;' 429 gt, 203 nt; triple-expansion steam engine, 17"-25"-43" x 30," built by Bethlehem, 850-ihp.

Later *Butterfield* LT 145, U. S. Army (1942), *Butterfield* (1945), and *John Purves (1957). Rebuilt and repowered in 1957: 142' x 27.7' x 15;' 436 gt, 296 nt; twin EMD 12-567A Diesels to twin screws, built 1944, 1800-bhp.

Dropped from documentation 30 April 2004 and donated by her owner, Andrie, Inc., Muskegon, MI, to the Door County Maritime Museum as a floating attraction. Currently being restored at Sturgeon Bay, WI.

Shown May 1964 on the Calumet River, Chicago, IL, assisting her consort, the barge *Marquis Roen.*
