This photograph of POL DAISY was taken on 5th February 1999 off Bromborough as she was being freed from a sand bank in the River Mersey after grounding the previous night when inbound for Ellesmere Port with a cargo of steel.

A Polish "B346" type, built in 1982 at Gdansk as KRITI JADE for Varnima Corporation International (Vardinoyannis) of Piraeus, she became Vroon's INDIAN EXPRESS in 1989 and Pol-Asia Line's POL DAISY in 1998.

After completing discharge on the Tyne, she sailed for Poland where she remained until late in 2002 when she sailed as VEESHAM 24 for breaking up on the beach at Sachana, India, where she arrived on 22nd March 2003.
