Description:
The former fishing vessel of the type "Aalschokker" is standing along the river Neckar at Mannheim, as part of the local technical museum. It was built in 1900 in the Netherlands and used untill 1955 for eel-fishing in the river Rhine and Neckar, only at night at anchor. Because of new navigational equipment such as radar inland vessels started to sail also during the night and the anchored fishing vessels became a navigational hazard. After 1955 therefore laid-up, in 1975 sunk and restored, added to the technical museum, in 2011 again renovated.
