Description:

NOAAS Ronald H. Brown (R 104) (IMO 9105786)
Commissioned in 1997, built in Pascagoula Mississippi USA - 3250 Tons - 274 Feet Long
Largest ship in the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration fleet. Used as research vessel and has been all over the world on various missions. Named for the US Secretary of Commerce who was killed in a plane crash in the former Yugoslavia in 1996. There is a large NOAA base in Norfolk VA. Went out and spent time in the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay before coming back in, I *suspect* doing trials and training. Seen from Fort Monroe Hampton VA.
