Description:

The M.V. Northella was a stern trawler which became a S.T.U.F.T (ship taken up from trade) after the Falklands Crisis. She was used as a Navigational training ship in the mid 1980s and was in that role when seen at Portsmouth in 1985 See comment from Tonclass

Thanks for that Rik. there a few more Sweeper photos to come,but I havent much info on them. I was at sea 20 years ago and I'd photo anything interesting that came in range.I've one or two books listing U.K. pennant Numbers, but Nothing for the European or U.S.N. I've just visited the TCA2000 site for the first time.Iwill return again and again

She was Taken Up From Trade [b]during[/b] the Falklands Conflict, and along with FARNELLA, JUNELLA, CORDELLA & PICT became the 11th MCM Squadron.
