Despite the P&O name and markings, this was actually a Sea-Land ship. During the 1990s Sea-Land was engaged in a cooperative agreement with a number of other companies; including P&O, Nedlloyd, CGM and OOCL, ddloyd. As a result, several of Sea-Land's Econ-class ships, including the Raleigh Bay, were re-named and re-painted as if they belonged to those other companies. However, they were still Sea-Land ships, operated by Sea-Land management and sailed by Sea-Land crews

Nice photo Gerald,
one of three ships that were shortened (!) and upgraded by Blohm+Voss Yard, Hamburg in 1994.
