GIUSEPPE DI VITTORIO, a B40 type built at Gdansk in 1969 for the U.S.S.R.'s Black Sea Shipping Company, was photographed laid up under arrest at Newport on 13th April 1997. She flew the Ukrainian flag from 1991.

She eventually sailed under the shortened name of TORIO, arriving at Alang on 13th February 1998 to be broken up.

The port agent was confused by the incorrect spelling of the ship's name on her bridge, as GUISEPPE DI VITTORIO, and that the vessel is also known as DZHUZEPPE DI VITTORIO.
