m.v. “Harlingen” of the shipping company Gebr.v.d.Schoot in Harlingen,sunk in the Strait of Malacca near Singapore.
All crew members, including captain Posthumus from Stiens (Fr.), a Dutch engineer, two German passengers and other crew members consisting of Indonesian personnel, were rescued in time. At the time of the shipping disaster, the Harlingen was on its way from Jakarta to Singapore.
