The Knox class ships were extensively modified through there carreers.

USS Roark was laid down by Todd Ship Building of Seattle, Washington on 2 FEB 66. She was launched on 27 APR 67 then commissioned on 23 NOV 69. She was strike on 11 JAN 95. On 13 OCT 04 the contract for her scrapping was awarded to International Shipbreaking Corporation of Brownville, Texas.
