Description:
Built by Aarhus Drydock in 1968 as TEGLHOLMEN, for the account of Ove Skou, this small chemical tanker is one of the many that ended "somewhere" on the West-African coast.
By 1980 the Teglholmen was sold to Wonsild, a familiar name in the intraeuropean chemical trades. She traded for them as Ebba Wonsild for another 13 years and and then was sold to Ajax Offshore Bunkering and renamed PATSY. In 2005 she drew the attraction of local Greek operators and was renamed KOUROS. Pictures show KOUROS with a large box shaped contraption on the foredeck. I have not been able to determine its function.
In 2012 she was taken over by a company named Adria Maritime and renamed AFRICAN POWER and shortly after the name was abbreviated to RICA, which would normally be an indication that she was on the way to the scrapyard. A report about this never appeared, but the last position reported by Marine Traffic was mid 2013 in the Lagos area. Ominous to say the least.
Here Ebba is passing Rozenburg, mid eighties.
Former name(s):
- Kouros (Until 2012 May)
- Patsy (Until 2005 Jan)
- Ebba Wonsild (Until 1993)
- Teglholmen (Until 1980)
