Thank you Rick, Brett and tvtech for your comments. It's always a number of factors that contribute to an accident, but the irony in this case is that the majority of the crew of the sinking ship was so eager to go to the KCG rescue boat (therefore overloading it), while 4 crew members (including the master, as I understand) remained on the doomed ship... The first group got themselves in even greater trouble, while the second one was rescued some time later without problems. A sad story indeed.
