Raised 1946 & taken to Mitsubishi's Kobe yard for repair
Back in service May 1947 (now 2,793 gross tons)
Laid up at Kobe March 1963
Moved to premises of Kobe Merchant Marine Training School 1967.
Severely damaged during Great Hanshin Earthquake of 17th January 1995; considered too costly to repair & dismantled the following year. Some parts & equipment are preserved in the Shintokumaru Memorial in the grounds of the University.
