As an aside, there is an intense debate going on in Naval circles in the U.S. as to what to name the latest carrier under construction. Recent US Navy practice has been to name the carriers after living politicians, in effect, "selling" the name to those who control the purse strings to the Navy's budget.

There is a groundswell of opinion in the Navy coming from the ground up that "America" would be a most appropriate name for the new carrier, keeping with Navy tradition of reusing certain ship names.

CV 66 is the America, a Kitty Hawk class conventionally aircraft carrier.

Alex, can you remember the date you took this picture? The AMERICA was sunk as the biggest target ever, earlier this year.
