The Shell tanker 'Halia' (to the right) lightening the motor tanker 'Levant' of some 18,000 tons of crude oil, which was delivered to Stanlow oil refinery, England.
Levant:
Keel laid 15/04/1967, launched on 01/07/1967 and completed at the shipyard on 12/10/1967, by Mitsui, Tamano, Japan (733)
42,450 g.t. and 79,582 dwt., as:
'Gimlevang' to 1978.
'Levant' to 1982,
'Mega Pilot' to 1986 &
'Lady Rose' until sunk by air-launched guided missile on the 11/07/1986, when South of Kharg Island, whilst on a ballast voyage from Piraeus, Greece to Kharg Island, Iran.
The ship was salvaged and sold to Taiwan for demolition, arriving at Kaohsiung on 19/02/1987.
Halia:
Keel laid during March 1956, launched on 29/08/1957 and completed during March 1958 by Hawthorn Leslie, Hebburn, England (730)
12,180 g.t. and 18,370 dwt., as:
'Halia', until sold to Spain for demolition, and arrived at San Esteban de Pravia, Spain on 28/8/1985.
