Description:

20/07/1980, Lyme Bay, Devon, England.

While both ships are under way at slow speeds, 'Onoba' approaches the Shell tanker 'Halia' for a ship-to-ship oil transfer.

Onoba had loaded TJP (Tia Juana Pesado - a type of heavy, Venezuelan crude) in Lake Maracaibo, which was used in lube oil production.

Lightening some 17, 000 tons to the Halia enabled the parcel to be split in Europe without incurring port dues.
Halia would discharge her part of the cargo in Stanlow & Ardrossan where it would be refined, and the larger vessel would discharge the remaining cargo in Brunsbuttel, Germany.

Onoba:
Launched on 17/11/1961, and completed during June 1962 by the Rotterdam Drydock company, Rotterdam, Netherlands (299)
31,540 g.t. & 53,44 dwt., as:
'Onoba', and remained under the same name with Dutch flag & crewing all her life.
Arrived at Yantai, China on 10/06/1985 for demolition.
