The mystery category is simply not good enough for gems like this. The vessel will never be identified, that's one thing. More important though, there were thousands and thousands of these sailing work horses in many parts of the world, until not so very many years ago. They are almost all gone today, leaving far too few traces behind. Pinisis, junks, dhows etc. - they deserve a category of their own, one that honours the beautiful legacy of former generations of sailors and shipbuilders. Collecting shots like this one from Shipspotters' private collections would be of huge value for maritime historians and many others. Uwe
