The older fireboats you're thinking of are probably John J Harvey, built in 1931, and Firefighter, built in 1938. The Harvey got a bunch of press after the 9/11 attacks because the old warhorse got a workout that day.

Hi John. Yes, thank you, I will make the correction... I must have been thinking of "Firefighter". There is a third in the harbor as well, if not Firefighter, then it is that one.

According to the USCG documentation database, John D. McKean (268629) was built in 1954 at Camden, New Jersey.
