Launched Dec. 17, 1962 as the straight deck bulk carrier built by Davie Shipbuilding, Lauzon, PQ for Halco Inc., Montreal, PQ. During the winter and early spring of 1979/80. She was equipped with a 250 foot stern-mounted discharge boom. In 1988 she was purchased by Canada Steamshiplines and renamed Halifax
