WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
Replacement of a previous post where I have now restored the image from the damaged 35mm negative.
Departing through Sydney Heads on one of her many cruises during the 1980,s late afternoon in her heyday. She became one of the most popular cruise ships in australia competing with Fairstar. (Just as popular) Can not count the number of times I went to my favorite locations to watch her sail.
Deemed surplus to P&O's requirements in early 1986, she was sold to become a floating hotel and tourist attraction, first in Japan and later in China. As a result of damage sustained from a severe storm whilst in the port of Dalian in 2004, Oriana was finally sold to local breakers in 2005.
