Paloma was one of three vessels ( the others were Balandra and Ambrosia ) taken on time charter for several voyages by ABC Containerline due to the delay in deliver of the newbuilds Ellen Hudig and Cornelius Verolme from Belgian the yard at Cockerill ( it went broke in 1982 and the ships were not delivered until 1983 and 1984 respectively when Boelwerf yard came to the rescue )

One of the series of conbulkers built by MTW in the late seventies, early eighties. Category is debatable, but probably not general cargo ships as Gross Tonnage want us to believe.
