Description:

The Norwegian Aaby's Rederi's 1956 Lubeck built SVOLDER was time chartered to Leif Høegh between 1970 and 1974. As HØEGH SVOLDER she was here photographed outbound from Rotterdam on 23rd May 1972 in Swedish West Africa colours.

She was on voyage from Porto Amboim, Angola, to Ronnskar in Sweden via Rotterdam and Bremen.

These details have now been provided:

1970 Renamed 28/07 to " HÖEGH SVOLDER " under timecharter to Höegh's West-Africaline.

1972 Reverted 17/08. Renamed " SVOLDER ".

She had subsequently sailed from Dunkirk on 3rd September 1972 as SVOLDER

SVOLDER carried the name HØEGH SVOLDER from july 1970 to august 1972, as she was chartered to Leif Høegh. She sailed then in Scandinavian West Africa Line (SWAL), which then was owned by Høegh and the Swedish Transatlantic group.

Hi Malcolm, Lloyds Register confirms Pieter's dates and renamed Roman Emperor in 1974 (1973-4 Register Supplement 11) with 1973 tonnages shown as 8,858 gross 12,558 dwt as CSD.
Built Lubecker Flender Werke 478'1" loa x 61'10"

Hi Malcolm, Miramar states that she named Hoegh Svolder from 1970 to 1972, and from 1972 to 1974 she reverted to just SVOLDER. Is that correct?
