The 1954 Bremerhaven built WALTER, owned since 1971 by Soutos (Hellas) Maritime Corporation, is seen passing Rozenburg inbound from Bremen for Rotterdam on 26th May 1972.

Built for Atlas Levante-Linie AG; from 1967 to 1971 owned by Hamburg-Sudamerikanische DG Eggert u.Amsinck

In 1979 she was sold to D.Kosmas, C.Karafotias & E.Karelias of Piraeus, still without a change of name.

On 23rd May 1980, after a voyage from Alexandria with a cargo of bagged sugar, WALTER suffered an explosion and fire while waiting in Nouakchott Roads and was beached
