Sea water began to flow through kingston to the engine room of the anchored mother ship "Feliks Kon" in the Nagaev bay. The vessel was towed in shallow water, where she lay on the ground. The crew was evacuated, and "Feliks Kon" remained aground for many months. On September 3, 1997, the vessel was refloated and towed to the Magadan commercial port, where it was prepared for disposal.
