Jane`s Merchant Vessels has her as a rebuilt WWII Standard Ship,
at LR 1979 she has a triple expansion steam engine (USA), 2.500 ihp, 9,5 kn.

I suspect that she was not re-engined, else she would probably have lasted longer. And whether she had a "extensive rebuild" in 1946 I doubt, as there is no sign of it (perhaps just a typo for 1964?)

The colored and black & white photos on the site you recommended are clearly of 2 different ships, unless she was substantially rebuilt between them. I can believe that the black & white ones show the ex-Empire Starlight (and 467 may even be the Empire Starlight before the sinking, as she has no topmasts & seems to be fully in wartime grey), but not the one in photo 476 (which is the same as in my & Vancouver Archives' photos).

I clearly got my first i.d. mixed up with an icebreaker of the same name. As you see, I've amended my "description" accordingly.
But, frankly, his ship does not look like a 1940's built/rebuilt ship; her design seems too “modern” and more like a 1960s-built design (she could almost be a shorter version of the Soviet Murom-class cargo ships - see my photos of the 1960s-built “Millerovo” & “Medyn” on this site). In my photo she also looks to be in very good condition – too good to have been withdrawn the year after the photo was taken. She is is clearly the same vessel as the one in photo 2280664, but the City of Vancouver Archives (which has the same photo as 2280664) gives no details of the ship, and I can find no other photo which links the 1941/45 “Empire Starlight” or “Murmansk” with EDP 5423994.
