Vertigo was not a problem, but opening the heavy cover leading to the top definitely was... :)

Vertigo is not your middle name, I suppose...

Thank you for your comment, corde.s.

And, to answer Pieter's question about Hyundai Mokpo Hotel: it's position looks promising on the map, but is actually not that great, as there are some construction cranes and sheds in the way. So, the best position is from a high point on some other ship in the vicinity - and funnels of container vessels offer plenty of those...

Yes, the "Sewol" can be seen on the territory of Mokpo New Port - it's actually completed and operational, it's the part north of it that is still being developed, while the wreck is supposed to eventually be moved to the east, to the central part of Goha island, to be the central exhibit of the memorial park, sometimes by 2025.

Cheers

And for completeness, on the large piece of land under development to the North-West side of the shipyard, one can see the ill fated Sewol ferry.

Hi Vlad, yes I see that now, there are furthermore three LNG tankers and one containership there. In the building dock is an ore carrier that looks quite bent, probably a distortion in the photograph. Are you staying in the Hyundai Mokpo Hotel on the right?

Thank you for your comment, Pieter.
It's interesting that Google Maps has a resolution limit when showing South Korea to the users FROM South Korea; whatever shady service manages this limit is overlooking the fact that I can still see whatever I want using the same Google Maps embedded in, say, marinetraffic.com...
The photo does not show the same trio, though, as it shows three VLCC tankers. I've tried to date the photo using some other details (buildings in my neighborhood), and I think it's from the end of 2019 - beginning of 2020...

Cheers

Vlad

Interesting, I found this view from Google Earth, showing the same trio, right from above....
