MAERSK INVINCIBLE seems to be the largest jack up rig in the world https://gcaptain.com/maersk-drilling-names-worlds-biggest-jack-maersk-invincible/

I was actually involved in the construction and commissioning of Maersk Goliath (was renamed to West Epsilon before even handed over) and Maersk Gallant many years ago. These 2 rigs were really huge at that time. I guess this Maersk Invincible should be even bigger.

Thanks MJ. This thing must be HUGE. And those container like things sticking out of the accommodation block, in the North sea conditions...amazing engeneering

Thanks for the nice comments Jaybird, Csaba and Brett and thank you MJ Chow for the accurate explanation to Csaba.

@csaba, The entire platform is not "filmsy" as you thought so, it is designed to withstand North Sea condition in fact. The operators are actually staying onboard throughout, living at the accommodation block as seen with windows.

@csaba, only the rig will go up and down by mean of jacking concept. The smaller platform is "permanently mounted" to seabed.

Amazing photo and an amazing piece of engineering. Does that whole thing go up/down on those stilts? They looks kinda flimsy. Do people actually live there? Fantastic!
