The 1956 Burntisland built ETOLIS, owned by Ch.Katrakis and managed by J.C.Carras, is seen passing Portishead outbound from Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on 9th July 1971.

Built for Greeks, she was launched as CAPETAN CHIOTIS but delivere as ARGOBEAM, becoming CYPRIAN in 1966, ETOLIS in 1968 and BARBADINOS in 1972. She then became TAKIS in 1973, TAKIS ALEXAKOS in 1974, making her last voyage in July 1982 from Jeddah to Gadani Beach as HAWEA, being beached there on 11 September 1982 to be broken up.
