Transporting mine hunters by cargo ship for deployment to the Persian Gulf on the outward and return trip saves the potential of the ships and deploys them more quickly. Having little autonomy, they would be obliged to make numerous refueling stops in the event of rallying the area by their own means.

Love them or loathe them, personally I think its some of the most impressive engineering I've ever seen.
