You can read the whole story on below link of how she was re-activated from oblivion, what we wanted to do with her and how she eventually ended up in Grenå.
I worked on her shortly as Captain back in 1999 and remember her well from my younger years in the Finnish coast. Needless to say it was with heavy hearts to see her end up like this. A wonderful little ship and the last voyage we did onboard will always be remembered. WILHELMINE was last of her kind, there are no other coasters left with such originality and charisma as she had.
all the best
Jan

It is always sad to see ships go to the breakers but for some reason it is always the loss of these small cargo vessels that makes me feel most sad. These little workhorse vessels that most people (except for us) hardly notice.

Thank you all for your interest in "Wilhelmine"

@Oricine, I think I feel best in Denmark :-)

And again a piece of German shipbuilding history is lost.

How many ships do they scrap at Fornaes per year? Got the impression a lot, or is it just that with Bendt we have the luck of getting to see them all. Imagine if Bendt moved to Gadani or Alang!

I have a cabin near where Wilhelmine was laid up for a long time. I recall sailing past her a few times with a SAR boat.

She has been laid up for the last 11-12 years and yet she even sailed the trip all the way out of the Gulf of Bothnia and through the Baltic Sea and up to Grenaa.

You can see a few extra pictures of her here:

Looks as if she was laid up for many years... Earlier photos are only from 2008.
