Can anybody please help to identify the Everard's 'A' class tanker, apparently bunkering the 'South Africa Star'.

Another photo, closer & at a different angle, can be seen here: https://flic.kr/p/2mz7jnG

Alongside, aft, is an F.T. Everard & Sons Ltd., 'A' Class coastal tanker, as yet unidentified, which appears to be bunkering the ship.

7-digit unique numbers were not "issued" for existing ships in 1969, the numbers were just changed in the register with the additional calculated check digit. All 6-digit LR unique numbers existing after they were introduced in 1963 can be safely converted using the correct formula for practical use, as on this site.

Never officially issued a 7 digit LR number. Dead before 1969 check number revision. So 5011834 is incorrect.
Was this ever resolved?

@davidships. Thanks, I've added the IMO you have provided. Regards, Rick.

The correct formulation for a 7-digit LR number would be 5011834.

A minor correction to my previous message, it is not a lifeboat, but the jollyboat which is stowed forward of the mast!

@Mike. By Jove, I think you have done it! ;-)
Well done and a big thank you.
Portholes, stanchions, lack of a funnel cowl & the lifeboat stowed forward of the main mast nails it... I think!
Much appreciated Mike. Regards, Rick

She was built in 1944 as the 'Empire Dombey' and renamed for Everads in 1947 as 'Allurity' and scrapped in 1965

@ ChasB46.
Thanks also for your suggestion.
Alas, there are still some differences in the profiles of the ships. It is down to hare-splitting, almost.
There are 10 portholes (in the white section) on the Alchymist, versus 9 on the mystery ship. There are also less stanchions along the main-deck, and a funnel cowl.
I will keep looking for now... but, as always, every suggestion is helpful - even if for elimination purposes!
Regards, Rick

@ Gianpaolo.
GB: Thank you for your suggestion, which is also very helpful.
When I expand the image as far as I am able, the name is 5 or 6 letters in length - maximum.

IT: Grazie per il tuo suggerimento, che è anche molto utile.
Quando ingrandisco l'immagine il più possibile, il nome della nave ha un massimo di 5 o 6 lettere.

Ciao, Rick

@ Bjorn. Thank you for your help in finding a very close match (and possibly shipyard).
The Aureity has a longer accommodation, or at least, more port holes in the white painted section. Also a cowl on the funnel.
It is appreciated!
Regards, Rick
