Hi Jim,picking up ideas how to operate or how not to operate a shipyard ?
Seeing the state of European shipyards and Korean ones.......most likely they digested the ideas and worked positively on them, how about these European shipyards reciprocate these visits to Korean ones, I think they will learn a lot.

Hi Emmanuel.L-I think they were from a shipyard picking up ideas
Emmanuel.L on Nov 24, 2021 16:48 (14 days ago)
These South Koreans were reporters , shipspotters/photographers or potential buyers?
Jim McQuarrie on Nov 24, 2021 11:56 (14 days ago)
Our owners let about 20 South Koreans into the yard-Early 1980's-Went crazy with cameras

Hi Jim, only 1 yard from 6. Western shipbuilding yards cannot compete with Asian ones result of lower wages ,more modern equipment etc. Has the area coped with unemployment, or is it still feeling the crunch?
Jim McQuarrie on Nov 24, 2021 08:31 (14 days ago)

Hi Emmanuel.L-Re Port Glasgow not on locations-East and West Harbours filled in 50's-60's-Only 1 yard from 6
Emmanuel.L on Nov 24, 2021 04:57 (14 days ago)
Thought you were Greenock resident Jim.....but I presume Port Glasgow is a harbour also ? How come no photos from that port.?
Emmanuel.L on Nov 24, 2021 04:54 (14 days ago)
Those balconies are old wooden ones ,now protected by conservation regulations and law from being destroyed. They can be found all over the islands especially in old towns and villages mostly built prewar and even more earlier..glad you like them jaybird.

Hi Emmanuel-Location Greenock but I am from Port Glasgow-Not in locations-Sensitive issue over here
Emmanuel.L on Nov 23, 2021 16:53 (15 days ago)
Weather different from your Greenock in bonny Scotland Jim, temps still at 21c to 23c,and it is late November, people still swimming in the sea, language no problem , and we are still in Europe no Maltexit for us.
Sorry no mountains or rivers (so no floodings and avalanches) but you get used to the lack of these.
Quite different from your beautiful highlands ...but we cannot have everything, still lots of history.
Jim McQuarrie on Nov 23, 2021 15:43 (15 days ago)
Sounds amazing Emmanuel.L
Emmanuel.L on Nov 23, 2021 15:34 (15 days ago)
Why don't you come over here Jim on a holiday, or even to settle. lot of foreigners have retired here. Sunshine, language no problem....everyone welcome mate.
best regards

Masks are only obligatory indoors, such as cinemas, supermarkets, shops etc. Jim.
Tourists must present vaccination passes.
Malta is coping very well, vaccinations is the answer.
regards and stay healthy my friend
