Description:

The 1954 Deutsche Werft, Hamburg, built reefer ITHAKI CASTLE is seen passing Hoek van Holland inbound for Rotterdam, presumably at the end of July 1973.

Later: 1974 MOHAMEDIA

On 24th February 1975 she sadly foundered during a voyage from Djibouti to Jeddah with livestock.

@Axel: I think these are block placing vessels used in 1970 for building the Hoek van Holland breakwater, one was named LIBRA, IMO 8139388 and NORMA, IMO 8330073:

Very pretty and sleek reefer. Quite "modern" for 1954 considering very similar design seen on younger ships.

Can the locals please explain what these two large yellow and red cranes are for in the background over her name?
